Abstract
The Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum in madrasas (Islamic schools) has unique characteristics compared to the religious education curriculum in public schools. These unique characteristics are reflected in the subject structure, depth of material, learning approach, and orientation towards student character development. This article aims to describe the characteristics of the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum in madrasas in terms of its philosophical foundation, objectives, curriculum content, learning strategies, and evaluation system. The research method used is library research, analyzing various sources of literature, including books, scientific journal articles, and madrasah curriculum policy documents. The results of the study indicate that the PAI curriculum in madrasas has key characteristics: the integration of religious knowledge and general knowledge, an emphasis on the formation of noble character, strengthening religious moderation, and the implementation of comprehensive evaluation encompassing cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. These characteristics make madrasas strategic educational institutions in shaping a generation of faithful, knowledgeable, and moral Muslims.
