Abstract
This article examines the urgent need to revitalize learning innovation in Islamic education amidst the digital disruption era and global challenges. This revitalization aims to ensure the relevance and sustainability of Islamic spiritual values in response to the demands of 21st-century competencies. The study identifies four main pillars of innovation: the integration of digital technologies (AI, VR/AR, LMS); the implementation of active learning methods (Project-Based Learning, Flipped Classroom); the enhancement of teachers’ competencies (TPACK and digital literacy); and the development of an adaptive curriculum (digital ethics, religious moderation). Significantly, this study also extends the scope of innovation to traditional educational ecosystems (pesantren) and emphasizes the need for global comparative analysis as well as the engagement of the Tri Sentra Pendidikan (family and community). Employing a descriptive qualitative method through library research, this study analyzes recent scholarly journals and documents. The findings highlight that the success of revitalization depends on maintaining a balance between high tech and high touch, where innovation is viewed as an intellectual ijtihad that harmonizes modernity and spirituality. This article offers a conceptual contribution to the formulation of a holistic, contextual, and future-oriented model of Islamic Education learning (PAI).
