Abstract
This classroom action research aimed to improve students’ learning interest through the implementation of learning-based counseling services in Grade XI at MA YPPA Cipulus. The study was motivated by students’ low motivation and participation in classroom activities, which negatively affected their academic performance. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects were 30 Grade XI students. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using descriptive qualitative and simple quantitative techniques. The results revealed a significant improvement in students’ learning interest after the implementation of learning-based counseling services. Students became more active, enthusiastic, and responsible during the learning process. Questionnaire data indicated an average increase of more than 30% in learning interest compared to the initial condition. These findings demonstrate that learning-based counseling services effectively create a positive, interactive learning environment and foster students’ intrinsic motivation. Therefore, this approach can serve as an alternative strategy to enhance learning interest within Islamic senior high schools.
