Abstract

This classroom action research aims to improve students’ motivation and learning outcomes in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) through the implementation of the mind mapping method. The research subjects were 25 students of grade XI at SMA Ar Raudhah. The study was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through observation, tests, and documentation. The results showed an increase in students’ motivation and learning outcomes. In the initial condition, only 13 students (52%) achieved the minimum mastery criteria (KKM), while 12 students (48%) did not. After the first cycle, learning mastery increased to 72% (18 students), and in the second cycle it significantly increased to 92% (23 students). Students’ motivation also improved, as seen from their active participation in discussions, interest in creating mind maps, and confidence in presenting their work. It can be concluded that the application of the mind mapping method is effective in improving both motivation and learning outcomes in PAI for grade XI students at SMA Ar Raudhah.
